eevi is built around speaking. The first time you start a voice lesson, eevi asks for microphone access and then your browser or device shows its own permission prompt. If you denied access, skipped the step, or something is not working, this guide shows how to turn the microphone back on.
When does eevi ask for microphone access?
Eevi asks for microphone permission before your first voice lesson. You will see an eevi prompt first, then a browser or device prompt asking whether the eevi site or app can use your microphone. Tap or click Allow and you are ready to start speaking.
If you denied access, skipped the step, or the prompt did not appear, follow the steps below for your browser or device. Exact wording can vary by browser and operating system.

Troubleshooting
No microphone found
This means eevi cannot detect a microphone on your device. If you are on a desktop, make sure your headset or microphone is plugged in and selected as the input device in your system settings.
Microphone in use by another app
Close other apps that might be using your microphone, such as video calls, voice recorders, or other browser tabs with active voice features. Then try the lesson again.
The permission prompt never appeared
Some browsers block the permission prompt if you previously denied it. Follow the manual steps above for your browser or device to re-enable microphone access.
Still not working?
Try these steps in order:
Close all other tabs and apps using the microphone.
Restart your browser or app.
Check that your system input is not muted.
Try a different browser if you are using eevi on the web.
Restart your device if eevi still does not appear in microphone settings.
If none of this helps, reach out at support@eevi.ai and include your device type, browser, and the email address on your eevi account. You can also use the shorter support guide at /help/microphone-access.
